1. Use an approximate analysis (assume the location of a point of inflection) to estimate the moment in the beam at support B (Figure P13.1). Draw the shear and moment curves for the beam. Check results by moment distribution. EI is constant.
2. Guess the location of the points of inflection in each span in Figure P13.2. Compute the values of moment at supports B and C, and draw the shear and moment curves. EI is constant.
