YOUR TASK is to reflect on an ethical issue (moral issue) which you personally experienced or witnessed recently. Then discuss this ethical issue from the perspective of each one of the four ethical families. Post this as a post (a “journal entry”) in this forum.

EXAMPLES OF AN ETHICAL ISSUE: For the sake of this assignment, an ethical issue is an issue about what is the right thing to do and what is the wrong thing to do. To put it differently, it is an issue about what somebody SHOULD or SHOULDN’T do.
Notice that this is an ETHICAL “should,” not a legal “should” (as in: Should I turn right on red?), not a self-interest “should” (as in: Should I invest money in the stock market?), and not a religious “should” (as in: Should I pray every day?).
The issue you choose does not have to be big and dramatic. It can be a small issue, as long as it is ethical. For example: Should I have kept my promise? Should I donate money to victims of the pandemic? Was it right of my boss to punish my co-worker? Should my mother hide the uncomfortable truth from my brother? And so on.
LENGTH OF POST: About 200-400 words.
STRUCTURE OF YOUR POST: Your post should include the following elements: (1) Explain briefly the event which you recently experienced or witnessed, and explain clearly the ethical issue which it raised in your mind. Be sure to formulate the issue as one clear question. (2) Explain some of considerations (concerns, problems, difficulties, questions) from the perspective of the ethics of the person. (3) Explain some of considerations (concerns, problems, difficulties, questions) from the perspective of the ethics of happiness.  (4) Likewise from the perspective of the ethics of virtue. (5) Likewise from the perspective of the ethics of relationships.
Each one of the above five elements should be about one paragraph long, more or less.
Do NOT express your personal opinion about the moral issue which you describe. Your task is simply to discuss how the issue appears from these four perspectives, and to demonstrate your understanding of them.
