I will be in the University of Arizona Global Campus for about four years, putting me in the Bachelor of Arts degree program to study (Criminal) Psychology.
As an online student in the preparatory course study of Psychology, I believe that the expecting material is base on Critical thinking, Reading, and Writing with this major. This type of material allows me to open the doors to creativity, and it teaches us more about the process of self-evaluation. It also enhances the ability to work with numerous people to benefit knowledge and experience throughout our lives.
Although my anticipation seems to be missing something, I am preparing to go through whatever challenged course is given and see it through with motivation and the curiosity of the determined mind and behavior, making it a personal, academic, and professional experience. At the same time, the Research Guide has the proper educational material on the specific profession that would better my theoretical knowledge and experience. I am getting to the point of enjoying the read with anything I can get my hands on that would still grab my attention with words and doesn’t let go. It can be as small as a newspaper to as big as a politician’s published book and a historical article to a personal journal. The most challenging part is the mind of balancing the keeping and gaining of the interest. So, let the future continue.
I wasn’t surprised to find these materials in my program because my curiosity is ready for the challenge.
I will be using all seven strategies: visualizing-organizing, searching-selecting, summarizing, questioning, monitoring-clarifying, activating and inferring. These strategies would help me learn more than I know, bringing the lessons to comprehend into my life experience.

Describe your degree program and what you will be studying. Be sure to include the name of the program.
My degree program/ major is healthcare administration I will be studying English composition 1 and 2, Information literacy, Introduction to film, Informal logic and Ethics and moral reasoning.
Explain what types of materials you anticipate working within your major course of study.
Before I started my course I thought I would be doing math, math is not my best subject. But I have only begin doing general and reading so everything is going good so far.
Compare the materials you thought you might read to the types of materials you found in Research Guide. Of the material you found, which types do you typically enjoy reading and which are typically more challenging for you?
I mean I didn’t really know what to expect but when I looked it up it was a few that caught my attention. Like ProQuest, scholarly journals and the video works. When it comes to the course some of the material you have to read. But if I want to succeed in this major I have to put effort in to getting use to different things.
Describe whether you were surprised by the types of materials found in your program and why or why not.
I wouldn’t say I was surprised this is my first year has a college student. So with every material I get I just have to be prepared to learn.
Explain the strategies that will help you navigate through these different types of materials.
I think my strategies will have to be the deep and slow strategy the SQR3, and the C.R.A.A.P when researching my material. When it comes to annotating it’s a little hard. I need to work on that some more to get better at it I know if I keep working and stay focus I can do it.
