Assignment 4.0: Classifications of Theft
Objective
Examine theft and its classifications
Assignment Overview
This case study assignment explores the elements of theft.
Deliverables
A paper of a minimum of 300 words in length, double-spaced. Writing more is never a problem, as long as the information is relevant. Writing less most likely means that you are not writing in sufficient detail for the assignment.
Step 1
Find an example.
Choose a real-life example of a local theft case you have read about or seen on television.
Step 2
Document the elements of theft.
Describe in detail the type of theft in the case you selected, and the elements of the theft. Identify where the elements of theft appear within the facts of the theft case. Use your state statutes as guidance for this analysis.
Remember, legal writing must include three essential parts–a detailed statement of the relevant facts, an explanation of the relevant law, and an application of the facts to the law.
While I do not expect you to use a proper legal citation, you must indicate where you found your outside sources and put borrowed language in quotation marks.
