Critical Summary Assignment – Sociology 402
In this assignment you are asked to do the following:
In 4 pages, explicitly answer these questions about three articles from the course thus far:
· What is the author’s main argument? What are three supporting points they use to make their main argument? (3.5 pages)
· What is something in common across all three articles? (half a page)
You will be graded according to these objectives:
1. The student clearly articulates that they understand a) the thesis of three papers from the course and b) three supporting arguments for each of the author’s central argument.
2. The writing is clear with little to no grammatical errors.
3. The student strictly focuses on the authors’ arguments and not the students’ personal opinions on what the author is writing about.
4. The student sticks to page guidelines and does not go over or under 4 pages. The assignment is double-spaced, 12pt Times New Roman font, with standard margins.
5. The student uses one citation style (MLA, APA, etc.) to correctly cite all articles discussed in the assignment.
