Problem Identification
In this section, please identify the problem associated with your PICO question. This allows the reader to understand the background of why the topic is being researched. You should develop a research question (PICO) that will yield the most relevant and best evidence. After presenting the background or problem, present the PICO and why this is the question you have selected. Provide appropriate references or statistics to support why this is a problem.
Literature Review
This section should include your search strategy including search terms, databases searched (with specific dates), and any other sources of literature utilized. Include the total number of articles found, the number of abstracts you reviewed, and how many you chose to use for the project. Please use a minimum of 5 articles.
Literature Review Summary Table
See next page. As you can see I have changed the layout to landscape. To do this, click at the beginning of your text on the page you want to change. At the top of the page, choose Layout, Breaks, Next Page, and then select Landscape. Once you have finished your summary table, go to the next page and repeat.

Explain briefly the problem and purpose of the study
List sample, sample size, inclusion/exclusion criteria, other characteristics identified
List theoretical framework if present
Include research design (qualitative, quantitative, prospective, retrospective, exploratory, RCT, etc.). Were any other instruments used in the study (i.e. survey, assessment tools, etc.)
Brief description of findings of study
Brief description of implications identified by researchers. How can this be applied to practice?
Clinical Decision-Making
In this section, provide at least three recommendations for practice based on the evidence specified. Include rationales for the recommendations. Provide recommendations for future research. This is usually a gap that has been identified in the evidence. For example, perhaps the study only looked at a specific age group or maybe a study was performed in a rural hospital but research should be considered in an urban setting. Identify any gaps that were found during your literature review. Perhaps you were looking for something, but no research had been performed on that subject. Discuss how you are planning to implement the recommendations into practice.
