For each negotiation, planning is an essential activity. This structured checklist exercise is designed to help you begin to think about the dimensions and questions that should be asked in advance of any negotiation.
Instructions
Review Exercise 4: Planning for Negotiations, found on page 203 of the Conflict Resolution and Negotiation text. After reviewing Exercise 4, complete the Planning Guide from p. 205 by answering the 10 questions that are presented.
This is an introductory exercise. Only 50 words in response to each question is appropriate.
For this assignment, consider a future negotiation in which you will participate, or any imagined negotiation in the future. This exercise is designed to help you begin to think critically and strategically about the process of negotiation.
The more measurable elements that you can include in your planning, the better.
Complete the structured planning checklist using the template provided. Each question should be answered with a minimum of 50 words of substantive analysis.
Your checklist should cite a minimum total of 4 relevant theories or methods from at least one of your textbook(s).
While the checklist does not need to be fully completed in APA format, all in-text citations must reflect proper APA citation, and be included in an APA appropriate References section at the end of the checklist.
Acceptable sources include peer reviewed journal articles, professional information sites, professional negotiation information sources, professional trade journals, and the Wall Street Journal, etc., as well as the course textbooks, and the Bible.
