The Institute of Medicine (IOM) identified six quality dimensions that are important to healthcare organizations. The application of Donabedian’s quality assessment structure, process, and outcome approaches are often applied at different levels.
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each approach and which American Society for Quality (ASQ) tool is appropriate for presenting the results in the different approaches.
Relating to the advantages and disadvantages, how would the quality management team decide on the ASQ tool to present the results for greater understanding of the quality situation?
