SOCIOLOGY:

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Assignment

You will read Ruchika Tulshyan book: Inclusion on Purpose, along with at least two other research sources on DEIB in the workplace. The research sources must be from reputable and reliable sources found on the internet. For example, reputable sources include publications like Harvard Business Review, The Economist, Stanford Social Innovation Review, Washington Post, research-based reports, etc.—use the digital literacy skills you’ve gained as soon-to-be-college-graduates here. You may also select a library source if you prefer (for example, books, peer reviewed journal articles, etc.).

Make an one-full-page of bullet points that features key ideas and arguments from Tulshyan and your other DEIB sources AND that has utility in potential workplaces, graduate school, or civic activities.

Below are the key markers your deliverable should have to demonstrate mastery:

Showcase three key points from your DEIB sources (this means you should have three clear parts and evidence to support your argument)

Demonstrate that you’ve read the Tulshyan book by engaging largely with her ideas and arguments (your two other sources are supporting)

Demonstrate original and developed thought (not simply regurgitation of random ideas, but thoughtful coordination of points and argument),

Showcase creativity and polished presentation (it looks nice, doesn’t have a lot of errors, and is interesting)
