The journal article critique provides an opportunity for critical examination of peer-reviewed research, agency evaluations, or technical reports. In your critique, you should briefly highlight the aim (purpose) of the study, identify the research question(s), discuss relevant literature and identify subsequent gaps, detail the methodology, summarize findings, and highlight limitations, policy implications, and suggestions for future research. Most importantly, you should evaluate the article against aspects of the correctional system covered during course materials. Do not simply summarize the article. The critique should be at least three pages double-spaced and in APA format (see http://www.apastyle.org).
