In recent years, major auto companies have had to recall millions of cars because of defects. Use the Internet to determine the reasons for these quality problems. How do you think these auto companies could effectively use business process engineering tools such as total quality management (TQM) and Sigma Six quality programs to reduce defects?

Over the last few years multiple automobile-related recalls have come up over the past few years. Some of the causes for the recalls include software issues and incompatibilities, improper installation of parts, defective parts, faulty design, faulty manufacturing, and damage during production. The best way to improve on the flock of automobile-related recalls is by executing the total quality management where a company employee continuously improve their ability to provide on demand products and services that customers will find of particular value and also by using the Sigma Six which seek to improve manufacturing quality by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing wrongdoing in manufacturing and business processes. Applying these programs will help eliminate many of the design and manufacturing defects and damages by having severe software testing would expose many of the bugs causing software issues
