Talk to the oldest living member of your family. Parents will be ok, but Essay

Talk to the oldest living member of your family. Parents will be ok, but grandparents have the deepest knowledge of family history. You’ll want to ask them about the causes of death that run in the family. You might hear some commonalities in the causes of death. Most risk factors for death are diabetes, heart disease, cancers, hypertension…etc.
You’ll need to pick ONE of these risk factors to be the topic of your paper. Please not that the risk factor does need to be hereditary. If you aren’t sure, please research the risk factor before writing about it (i.e. accidents aren’t hereditary). Look up all the information you can find about your risk factor, especially how to prevent it, because the point of this paper is to learn how to prevent this risk factor from affecting you.

Written Work:

·       First paragraph should give a brief introduction to the person you talked to and the information you uncovered. This part should not be longer than a paragraph or two. If you find yourself writing a page and a half on your grandmother, please find a way to condense it.
·       Body of the paper. Several paragraphs. Tell me everything you know about the risk factor. The following should be addressed: signs, symptoms, causes, effects on your health and preventative measures.
·       Final 1-2 paragraphs. Specifically address the preventative measures and how you can implement them in your life to stop the hereditary health risks. I need to see you include how exercise, diet and stress management reduces your risk for developing the health risk you’ve chosen to write about.
