The Analyzing Child Psychology Paper should present an analytic overview of a mental
disorder or psychological concern/issue that may be assessed or diagnosed in a preadolescent child. In this paper, the student should analyze how the identified disorder or issue
might influence development, particularly noting influences that might interfere with normal
development, as well as discuss the influences of family and culture/society. Papers that
evaluate high are those that not only clearly address the aforementioned aspects of the
assignment, but also use as many class terms and concepts as possible in the analysis and
discussion, as well as make clear connections to the course material.
