Paper Objective: Write a 3-5 page paper on one of the following topics:
Option I:
Analyze the evolution of Civil Rights for African Americans from 1865-1878, and what were the origins and meanings of the Fourteenth Amendment? What is its significance today?
Option II:
Who were the entrepreneurs who pioneered the growth of big business? What were the most important factors that shaped the course of industry and the economy from 1877 – 1920? Moreover, how did immigrants contribute to the urban growth of that era?
Option III:
In the 1890s, how did the economic climate give rise to the Populist movement, and how did it impact minorities, including women and the poor? Analyze the ways in which class structure and lives of women changed in the late nineteenth century.
Note: The paper has a research element that will require the evaluating of both primary and secondary sources. The paper must be typed, double-spaced, using the MLA method of citing sources.
