Pretend you are a government consultant for the air transportation industry charged with ensuring that the aviation industry is/remains a globally competitive industry. One of the industry leaders is frustrated and asks the question, “Do we all need to follow the LCC model into a new, more disruptive model in the industry to remain successful?” Given your understanding of the cost structure, pricing, and revenue management strategies, provide an analysis addressing this question in a document. Make sure you give weight to geographical considerations, use formal data, and academic literature. As with most questions in Economics, the answer might start with “it depends.” What would you recommend to the industry?
