Reading Response #3: Excerpts from A Bintel BriefCOLLAPSEReview the brief notes on a Bintel Brief, select one letter, and answer the three questions below by 11:59pm, Thursday, June 10th.
First, state the year the letter was written and what page on the PDF the letter appears.
1. Use direct evidence from the letter to explain: what theme (larger message), issue, and/or topic is addressed in the letter? What formal elements does the writer employ to convey that theme, issue, or topic? See list of sample formal elements here: how to analyze literature worksheet
2. How does the editor respond to the letter? Do you agree with his response? You may want to consider what was happening in the domestic and foreign fronts when each letter was written. See notes here:
