A portfolio allows potential employers and others to see your work, ideas and talents in one organized place. The collection should also include a cover letter and resume. Use your first name only or a pseudonym for your cover letter, resume and portfolio. Since this information will be openly accessible on the Web, do not include private information, including identifiers such as: names, ethnicity, city or state of origin, phone number and current physical address. Should you want to send such information, do so in a private e-mail or a private message, but use caution.
InstructionsWrite a cover letter and resume for a PR firm and choose what you consider to be the best four examples of your writing assignments completed this semester. Be sure the assignments have been corrected or amended based on feedback from the instructor. That is, don’t include work that has errors.
These are the components to be included in your electronic portfolio. A blog or website for your portfolio is the best platform to showcase your work. Check out the resources below for samples and guidance.
