Rather, consider the traits, behaviors, and values associated with American identity. How might the definition of “American” differ from person to person, and why? Who can and cannot lay claim to that identity, and why; who determines whether or not someone is an American? How do you represent your own American identity – if at all? Consider the ways in which that identity is conscious or unconscious.
