(Course subject is Race, Class and Gender).  Liberating Act Proposal (2 pages), and Final Paper (6-7pages).
Throughout history, feminists have advanced their causes through planned action to
push against deeply ingrained beliefs about gender, race, class, and sexuality. This
assignment invites you to participate in this tradition. You will examine the gender roles
and systems that impact your life by overstepping the boundaries that constrict you. The
liberating aspect of this act comes by way of the fact that you are attempting to bust free
from the norms and constraints of gender, which (as we know) are also always
impacted by racist, classist, and heterosexist norms. You will write a paper on the
process of planning, carrying out, and assessing your act.
Please compose from the perspective of a gay black male living in a large urban city.
