This discussion forum should be completed after you have picked a painting to analyze for your HUM paper. This discussion forum should be 200-300 words in length. This DF gives you the opportunity to help identify the specific vocabulary words you will be using in your paper.
In a new discussion thread choose one of the vocabulary words from the How to Read Art PPT (Elements of Composition/Principles of Design) and brainstorm about it in paragraph form. Use Art Vocabulary Terms (slides 5 and 6 of the How to Read Art PPT) to chose a few terms to brainstorm.
Remember to use concrete rather than abstract language to describe your image. For instance, do not write, “The painting is beautiful.” Instead, write, “The painting features shades of green, blue, and red throughout, giving it a dynamic contrast of colors.”
