Week 5 Discussion
The theme is diversity and you will want to do some research
in the library to find
peer reviewed sources that relate to diversity. Find at
least two peer reviewed sources related to diversity (see below for further
guidance). You may also incorporate other sources in addition to these two.
Cite the textbook when you draw from it as well.
For your initial post, due Wednesday, explain the following.
You can integrate literature into any of the three sections. I realize that the
first and second section may overlap
and that is fine.
How does diversity play a role in your career? I work for Dept of Corrections
For example, I would write about the role of diversity my
I/O work. I supervise 12
women.
How does diversity relate to the topic about which you are
writing your paper?
For example, here I might be writing about coaching and
locus and control in I/O work so I could focus in specifically on diversity to
these topic areas. However, I might
blend the career/paper theme together and
make it clear that my paper goals are
deeply related to my work.
How does diversity relate to one of the themes (discuss both
sides) from the
textbook?
FYI. I am a African American female who works for the Alabama Depatment of Corrections and supervise 12 females. I work at the central office. I want to become a Child Psychologist/Counselor.
