Consumer Behavior Paper: Instead of a final exam, you will write a paper (2500 words) that is approximately 10 pages (double spaced) in length. A Works Cited Page is required using APA format.
Writing prompt: After reading the Smart Persuasion: How Elite Marketers Influence Consumers (and Persuade Them to Take Action) by Philippe Aimé and Jochen Grünbeck, pick 5 principles from the book that you think are the most effective and further elaborate on each one. Dig deeper into each principle by using the “Sources and Further examples” suggestions at the end of each principle to deepen your understanding.
Think of your own personal experiences that demonstrate this principle in action as well. You must cite at least one additional source (book, professional journal article, etc.) to support your argument as to why this principle is so effective in influencing consumer behavior. You may use our textbook as one of your sources; however, you do need 5 different sources.
You must write at least 500 words per principle arguing why it is effective (which ends up being a approximately 2500 words). I highly suggest that you get started on this assignment sooner than later so that you have enough time to craft your argument for each principle. I will not require that you turn in notes, outlines, or a rough draft, but we can meet to discuss your progress on this paper (via Zoom) if you have any questions.
The paper is due by the last day of class. It is worth 35% of your grade for the course.
Additional Requirements:
The paper must have the following:
A heading with your name, date, and class in the upper left hand corner.
A catchy title that relates to the paper.
12 font, Times New Roman, Double Spaced with 1inch margins
At least one additional source per principle to support your argument (5 different sources minimum).
Use APA in-text citations correctly and include a Works Cited Page correctly formatted at the end of the paper.
A word count listed at the end of the paper.
Correct grammar, mechanics, and spelling.
