Students will write a research paper that will assess all four competencies (Critical Thinking,
Communication Skills, Empirical and Quantitative Skills, and Social Responsibility). Students will
write grammatically correct essays in which they identify, describe, and analyze a social problem
in their community and devise ways to research and recommend possible solutions to that social
problem. Students are further expected to use tables, graphs, and charts to analyze and make
conclusions about the social problem they choose to investigate in their community. This
assignment will be assessed using the University rubric which will be used to assess the social
responsibility objective. You are required to have 5 sources where one of the sources can be your textbook. There should be a minimum of 4 peer reviewed articles. You are welcome to have more sources-you can use other books or credible websites. Also, there is a sample paper available for you to use as a template. The paper must be in APA format but you do not need an abstract. Your paper must include the following 3 required components: Table/graph, how it affects your own community (please DO NOT be vague), and list possible solutions or policy recommendations for your social problem.
