Assignment: Post Covid Marketing Plan for Nike in South Korea – Part 1 Weak Signals Analysis
This assignment is one of a series of assignments which would eventually construct and complete a comprehensive marketing plan for Nike’s post covid marketing operations in South Korea.
For this assignment, you need to do some thorough research about Nike’s existence and marketing status in South Korea, especially the status after the outbreak of Covid-19. After that, you need to analyze the market status of South Korea as a country, again especially the status after the outbreak of Covid-19. Finally, you need to comprehensively combine your ideas of the mentioned analysis and finish the charts I presented. I will also attach an example (the pdf file) for your reference, which is about LVMH’s post covid weak signals analysis in South Korea.
Weak Signal Analysis:
The marketing definitions of “Weak Signals” are as follows:
“Weak signals are simply data points that indicate significant change could be underway. They represent emerging issues that could plausibly and dramatically affect your business model, operations or even industry environment. Weak signals are instances of change that are perceivable when you look beyond your core knowledge base and day-to-day business activities and into adjacent and peripheral spaces. Weak signals are new and surprising, and likely unknown or not taken seriously by you or your colleagues”

For the LVMH example I uploaded, an “s” behind a weak signal indicates that weak signal is relatively stronger compared to others. Similarly, a “w” behind a weak signal indicates that weak signal is relatively weaker compared to others.
