Pathology Assignment

Assignment: Choose a pathologic condition/disease relevant to the content covered in the RADT 116 Radiographic Procedures/Positioning I and Medical Terminology Course. Write a 1 -2 page summary of the pathology and how it presents radiographically as outlined below.

The paper must include the following elements:

1. Pathology – Provide an explanation of the chosen pathology (definition, symptoms, causes, prognosis) and discuss the general x-ray exams and other imaging modalities that may be typically used to demonstrate the pathology. Provide a thorough description of positioning (CR/IR/Patient) and technical image quality that is required for the x-ray exam used to demonstrate the pathology.

2. Image Critique – Visit the Websites provided on Canvas or those listed here and review the PPT’s provided on the Canvas Course Page. Describe the radiologic presentation and appearances of the pathologic condition and differentiate normal anatomy from the pathology on images.
