John McMahon was born to Mr and Mrs Henry McMahon on January 21, 1996 in Lynchburg, Virginia. John has 2 siblings and has lived in Lynchburg his entire life. Mr. McMahon attributes his drug use to loneliness and isolation. He comes from a two-parent home and his parents have been married for 35 years. John’s parents have worked hard to provide for the family and held the same jobs for over 30 years. John was provided with the best throughout his childhood and had more than most. However there is a history of domestic violence and alcohol abuse by his father. To escape the domestic violence, John began staying out all night, hanging with the wrong crowd and abusing drugs. John expressed that he does not know how to communicate with his siblings to develop meaningful interpersonal relationships. His parents are unable to reach him because he prefers to keep to himself. John was an excellent student, was offered scholarships to the best universities, but dropped out his senior year as a result of drug abuse. He has a steady girlfriend but has never been married. Due to his 1st conviction, he currently lives in a half-way house.
