For your culminating project, you will be writing a report and learning the formatting conventions for proposals, annotated bibliographies, progress reports, oral presentations, and reports.

Topic: This is completely up to you. The idea is that you will pick an engineering topic that you find interesting (and, hopefully, the class will too!); a topic that will help you in your classes, now or next year; a topic that will help you with a special seminar you will be taking, or with your internship/coop; or just a topic you always wanted to look into but didn’t have the time.

Focus: The body of the report should be 10 pages long, so your topic must be narrow enough to fit. This should NOT be a history report “The Building of the Brooklyn Bridge”.

It should be relevant and current, and appropriate for a junior or senior engineering student.

Your topic should not focus on where engineering is, but where it is going. Don’t talk about wind turbines, but design considerations for mitigating lightning strikes on off-shore wind turbines.
