When we walk through the halls of museums or thumb through books about
ancient sculpture we are faced with monochromatic white/gray works of
art that are almost meditative.  Much recent scholarship has pointed to
evidence that we are not seeing these sculptures as the Ancient Greek
society did.  Please read this article, watch this video, and lastly, read this longer article
on the idea theory that Ancient Greek sculptures were brightly
painted.  Please provide one fact that stood out to you as you read and
watched.  How does your opinion of these works of art change when you
view them through this lens?  Will you always picture them with paint
now?
