Research Proposal
Research Proposal: You will\u00a0select a topic from the time frame of the course to 1877 CE. A complete proposal contains the following:\u00a0Cover page, abstract, a brief outline, and\u00a0annotated\u00a0bibliography.
You must select\u00a0eight (8)\u00a0academic\/reliable sources on the selected topic. Your abstract contains your research topic, research questions, and anticipated conclusions.\u00a0If you cannot locate sufficient reference material, you MUST select a different topic.\u00a0Your abstract should be a single, non-tabbed, paragraph that is double-spaced. Your abstract should be between 150 and 250 words
Sources:\u00a0Your sources\u00a0must come from peer reviewed\/academic sources\u00a0or reliable sources (books by recognized authorities) available through WNC Library resources (http:\/\/library.wnc.edu\/). Use the subject search on the library website to find the widest range of materials.
NO NON-ACADEMIC INTERNET SOURCES ALLOWED\u00a0including Wikipedia, Encyclopedia or .com sites found through Google-type searches.\u00a0Do not use\u00a0Blogs, Newspaper articles, Trade Journals, book reviews or newsweeklies. Do not include any source that does not contain a bibliography (for example\u00a0WWI Magazine\u00a0or\u00a0WWII Magazine)\u00a0Failure to use acceptable sources will result in the rejection of the project and a failing grade.
All projects must be submitted following APA or MLA formatting for a cover page, abstract, and annotated bibliography. Assignment grade will be based on appropriate choices of reference material, proper use of APA style bibliography and proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation of abstract and cover page in APA style.
\u00a0As part of the research proposal, you will construct a brief outline identifying general structure of the paper including introduction content, body paragraph organization, and conclusion.
