ASSIGNMENT #3: Term\/Research Paper, Due Week 7: July 6, 2021 (worth 15% of course grade)
Objective\/Overview\/Guidelines
Objective: This assignment is designed to allow the student to write a research paper on a political science-related issue. Students will chose from a list of possible topics (see list below). The goal of the assignment is evaluate student\u2019s ability to conduct research and effectively discuss the results\/findings of the research in a college-level academic research paper.
Overview: Students are required to write a double-space paper that is1,800 words (minimum) to 2,500 words (maximum) in response to one of the eligible topics list below. The word count requirement\u00a0DOES NOT\u00a0include the title page or list of references.
General Requirements and Parameters

It has AT LEAST five sources\/references to support your discussion. Sources may include assigned readings. At least\u00a0two sources must be from an\u00a0academic\u00a0journal or book.\u00a0
It follows the General Written Assignments Formatting Requirements (i.e., name on paper, 12-point font, 1-inch margins, etc. \u2013 See Syllabus for more information).
Sources are from the assigned readings or a news or an academic journal–not a blog or opinion piece.\u00a0
Style\/Technical Presentation
There is an interesting title.
The first paragraph ends with the thesis statement.
Paragraphs have an introduction, body, and conclusion.
Paragraphs are no more than 8 sentences long (5 to 6 is better).
There is no more than one quote on each page (fewer is better).
ALL facts, figures, dates, and information from sources are cited in the paper with in text citation.
In text citation for ALL direct quotes include a page or paragraph number.
All works cited in the paper are included in the reference list.
Reference list DOES\u00a0NOT\u00a0start on a new page.
Reference list is proper (triple check what should be included in each reference and how).
