This discussion board offers an opportunity to revisit that beginning. Please cut and paste the beginning of your story to a separate document. For this exercise, you are asked to write<strong>\u00a0two additional (different) beginnings<\/strong>\u00a0to your fiction draft. Play around with perspectives, dialogue, setting, etc. You are free to implement whatever changes you want but I encourage you to experiment with the various techniques you learned from your readings this week. Complete your review and comments by\u00a0<strong>Thursday, 11:59 PM EST<\/strong>\u00a0so the final revisions and proofing can be implemented by the writer.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Critiquing the Writing of Others<\/strong>\u00a0lecture as well as the\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Strategies For Success<\/strong>\u00a0video lecture outline best approaches for peer review.\u00a0 Make sure to read and watch those lectures before going any further.\u00a0 After having done that, look a little more closely at the specifics of how you can approach peer review.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of what particulars to be looking for when reviewing a work of fiction, look no further than the Elements of Fiction we covered last week.\u00a0 Think about \u201cThe Cask of Amontillado\u201d and how the different Elements of Fictions were shown to be working in the story. When engaging in peer review of a work of fiction you should approach your peers\u2019 work in a similar manner.\u00a0 Ask yourself how they\u2019re employing each of the key elements.
