An important aspect of learning in an online course is student-to-student interaction. One way to do this is with asynchronous, threaded discussions. Asynchronous discussions are ones in which postings are staggered. Postings don’t happen at the same time as in a synchronous discussion such as a chat room. Your discussions are also threaded. This means that a series of responses to a posting flow from the original posting in outline form on the discussion board. To get the most learning from the threaded discussions, please follow these guidelines:<\/p>\n
Before Posting<\/p>\n
Read the assigned material<\/p>\n
Browse the supplemental learning resources in the week’s module<\/p>\n
Read your fellow students’ postings.<\/p>\n
Think about what you want to write<\/p>\n
Posting<\/p>\n
Participate weekly in the threaded discussion for each module.<\/p>\n
Practice good netiquette.<\/p>\n
Use good grammar, correct punctuation, correct spelling, etc.<\/p>\n
Bring in resources other than your textbook.<\/p>\n
Cite any resources that you use in APA 7th\u00a0edition format.<\/p>\n
Visit the discussion board several times during the week.<\/p>\n
Check for any responses to your postings.<\/p>\n
