It is the obligation of the instructor to communicate ideas concisely. They should evaluate the learner’s skills and teaching strategies while attempting to include the use of various senses. The instructor must be knowing the learner’s life stage and the variables that could delay or mislead the instruction. The nurse needs to be aware that the patient may view the subject in a different way from nurse. The teaching must be effectively conveyed as it was intended. Lastly, both student and teacher must get along well.

The teacher is frequently given whole responsibility for explaining things so that everyone can understand. The learner must be prepared and motivated to absorb the new knowledge. The likelihood of learning is frequently increased when the learner participates in the preparation of the material to be discussed. By discussing how they learn best using particular techniques, the patient or learner can help. For instance, using the equipment can be more beneficial than simply receiving instructions on how to use it. Between nurses and patients, communication is essential. If something is not understood, it must be expressed so that it can be clarified and the patient can benefit.

I’ve always found the cognitivism theory to be fascinating. Learning is motivated by the learner’s desire to advance intellectually or change their perspective. The learner is motivated to change by their senses, their environment, or internal factors. Information is organized and processed by the person according to how they see it, and perceptions are affected by personal experiences. The interaction between the instructor and the learner is also emphasized by cognitivism.

I have taken part in educating and training newer nurses on how to work on the unit and carry out everyday activities. I use every chance to explain to the new nurse the rationale behind each action, whether it be administering a drug, carrying out a treatment, or instructing the patient. Everytime I work, I have the chance to educate the nursing assistants about a topic linked to nursing care, especially those who want to become nurses. Every shift must include teaching patients and family members. With the POC, there are constantly changes that need to be communicated to the patient’s family.

References Bastable, S.
