The results of the self-assessment only provide your overall use of tactics. For example, I am a “moderate” user of these tactics so as I reflect on that, I consider how effective I am as a leader using them and which ones I use more than the others. Before you begin this post reflect on the list of tactics and\u00a0consider a couple\u00a0that you know you use.\u00a0
Be ready to share your thoughts on the self assessment and specifically share about your use of TWO tactics. Tell us if they work, why and how you feel about using them. Reply to TWO other students to share thoughts on using these tactics.\u00a0
You need to create an original post and respond to TWO others to get credit.\u00a0 Your initial post is 150 -250 words. Replies to others need to be about 100 words.If these guidelines are not followed you will lose 5 points before grading for content.\u00a0
Put a bit of thought into your writing. More depth delivers more points on this one.\u00a0Here is the list of nine tactics to reference as you begin your post:\u00a0
Rational persuasion\u00a0\u2013 Use of reason, logic, or facts.
Inspiration\u00a0\u2013 Appeal to people\u2019s emotions, ideals, or values.
Consultation\u00a0\u2013 Getting others to participate in planning and making decisions.
Ingratiation\u00a0\u2013 Use of praise, flattery, or humor.
Personal appeals\u00a0\u2013 Use of friendship and loyalty to convince others of a course of action.
Exchange\u00a0\u2013 Trading favors.
Coalition\u00a0\u2013 Using other people to help you make your appeal.
Pressure\u00a0\u2013 Demanding compliance or using intimidation or threats.
Legitimating tactics\u00a0\u2013 Making reference to a higher level manager or authority, or depending on your personal authority position
