What was the primary character of the artistic environment where the artist was working? What are the visual elements evident in the work to support your interpretation of the work? <\/p>\n
Use the \u2018Elements of a Painting Analysis\u2019 handout to shape your visual analysis. When discussing the work\u2019s context, think about how the specific issues current in American culture connect to the artist\u2019s choices in subject matter, materials, and methods. <\/p>\n
You must record your observations in the 3rd person objective form. Therefore, words such as I, ME, MY or MINE must not appear anywhere in the context of your essay. Additionally, any information included that is not your direct observation must be documented with footnotes and a bibliography. You must include proper citations and proper formatting of a works cited list. (MLA is fine). <\/p>\n
