Kennedy served as the 35th president of the United States of America from 1961 until his execution which made his administrative changes and prominent events such an impact to our country’s history. Kennedy’s agenda was to address communism and focused on a plan to shape a different form of government. Kennedy created the Peace Corps and accomplished the landing of a man on the moon when the Soviets launched a satellite into space. Kennedy had a frame of mind that the entire world was of the Cold War. This type of thinking brought a rudimentary relationship between John F. Kennedy and Fidel Castro, a cuban politician and leader

Fidel Castro led a radical revolution in 1959 that exiled an eminent dictator named Fulgencio Batista in Cuba. Before Castro took power, Cuba had a significant economic dependency on the United States of America. Cuba’s government started to make distinctive changes concerning American landholding as a means to market sugar to the Soviet Union. The Eisenhower administration stopped trade with Cuba and commenced an invasion of Cuba, an invasion that involved the CIA and the Kennedy administrations.

In April of 1961, Kennedy allowed the CIA to invade Cuba and this action is known as the Bay of Pigs. Unfavorably, the invasion was a failure and a non fulfillment of any avenues that President Kennedy and his administration strive to achieve. As a result thousands of invaders were captured and around one hundred were killed. Cuba grew close ties to the Soviet Union and established a profound relationship. Kennedy was now in a situation to fix this problem and discussed solutions among his administration, which one included assassination as a means to eliminate the Castro Government.

The Soviet Union was installing missiles in Cuba within close proximity to the United States which brought an extreme risk crisis to the Kennedy administration. The American spy plane noticed the placements and the Kennedy Administration attacked Cuba without consulting the military leader. Kennedy demanded the removal of all nuclear weapons and missiles. Tension grew, but the Soviet premier agreed to withdraw the explosives in Cuba. Kennedy vow to not invade Cuba and remove missiles from Turkey, for the sole purpose that the placements of the missiles were in close distance to the Soviet Union.

The Cuban missile crisis appears as though it had influenced Kennedy to reduce Cold War tension and form a cooperations with the Soviets in a civil matter. Kennedy desired a civil relationship with Cuba, apart from all the history that created any negative tension or hostility. Kennedy also agreed to a ban of testing of nuclear weapons in the atmosphere and outside space, world wide. Many negotiations and exchangement took place which brought a grand change to American society and politics.

Discussing the different approaches that President George H. W. Bush developed against President Bill Clinton views on the American role post Cold war; we can evaluate the effects that took place and how this may have resulted in a mutually beneficial value to all or a problematic occurrence that brought fundamental issues to the United States of America. Bush recognized the Gulf War as the beginning to bring democracy and free trade. After the war, the political leaders mapped out different visions for the future.

General Colin Powell anticipated that the post-Cold War environment would be dangerous within places that were unforeseen.

Sxxxn Nxxxa United States History II (4xxxx2) December 8, 2022 Dr. Mxxxn Mxxxxr Final Essay Exam John F.
