Position Summary
The nurse supervisor will be responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating daily operations within an assigned clinic\/department to ensure quality patient care in their assigned department. Fills in the Registered Nurse role as needed due to staffing issues.<\/p>\n

Essential Functions & Responsibilities*<\/p>\n
Plans, organizes and supervises nursing duties and provides leadership in complying with governmental, accreditation and other regulations \/ requirements and with the policies set forth by Pinehurst Medical Clinic.<\/p>\n
Assists in the selection, training, monitoring, and evaluation of the departmental staff.<\/p>\n
Supervises RN, LPN, CMA, or any other supportive staff.<\/p>\n
Participates in the nursing care related to assessment, promotion, maintenance and restoration of patients\u2019 health and wellness.<\/p>\n
Monitors and tracks all medications and medical supplies and equipment.<\/p>\n
Works within scope of license, develop and implement nursing plan of care for patients. Communicate the plan of care to patients as prescribed by physician: test results, scheduling of specialized tests and treatment modalities, prescription drug instructions and other patient education including procedures and\/or disease processes.<\/p>\n
Obtains, reviews, verifies and\/or complete health care forms related to home health care, referrals, medical equipment and other patient\/physician needs as appropriate. .<\/p>\n
Help maintain patient flow and workflow. Work collaboratively as a team member of the clinic staff to provide a high quality and efficient service to patients and clinic.<\/p>\n
Recognizes patient rights and provides for confidentiality of patient information and for dignity through own performance and in relationship with others.<\/p>\n
Collaborates with other disciplines; promotes and supports research activities; and utilizes available resources to provide and improve patient care.<\/p>\n
Participates in medical staff meetings as required.<\/p>\n
Participates in quality improvement team efforts, including meetings to discuss quality assurance improvement initiatives.<\/p>\n
Observes patients and reporting changes in patients’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.<\/p>\n
Measures and records patients’ vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.<\/p>\n
Practices safety, environmental, and\/or infection control methods. Identifies and\/or communicates any safety issues for the clinical equipment, building, follows-up to ensure completion.<\/p>\n
Maintains patient areas and working spaces in a clean, neat and orderly manner. Monitors use of supplies\/medications; restocks as necessary and informs appropriate persons of needs for additional supplies.<\/p>\n
This position may be assigned to special projects or accountabilities when other priorities are identified.<\/p>\n

Qualifications*
Education (Including Licenses and Certifications):<\/p>\n
Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina. BSN or enrollment in BSN program preferred.<\/p>\n
BLS\/CPR certification required.<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
Two years of clinical\/ambulatory nursing experience preferred.<\/p>\n
Two or more years’ experience in a nursing supervisor or manager role preferred.<\/p>\n
