Symptoms occur several nights a week with occasional discomfort in the middle of the afternoon. A bland diet or drinking milk do seem to help and spicy foods aggregate the symptoms. <\/p>\n<p>PMH:\u00a0non-contributory <br \/>SH:\u00a0Works in a grocery store, divorced, non-smoker, drinks 1-2 beers\/day <br \/>Allergies:\u00a0none <br \/>Meds:\u00a01 325mg ASA daily for cardiovascular prevention <br \/>ROS: <br \/>Constitutional: Decrease appetite and 5% weight loss; denies fever <br \/> ENT:\u00a0Denies sore throat or drainage <br \/> Lungs:\u00a0Occasional dry cough at night <br \/> Heart:\u00a0Mid sternum chest burning intermittently <br \/> Abdomen:\u00a0Epigastric burning and tenderness, denies constipation or diarrhea <br \/>\u00a0Question 1 &#8211;\u00a0Summarize the pathophysiology of Peptic Ulcer Disease as compared to GERD and explain which one his symptoms most closely represent.
