Develop a Thesis that identifies the author&#8217;s name and an argument or arguments that they present in the poetry. I am providing a few examples. You can work with these or choose your own. <br \/>Thesis Example 1: One of Emily Dickinson&#8217;s arguments in her poetry has to do with giving value and kind treatment to nature&#8217;s creatures, even the insignificant ones.\u00a0 <br \/>Thesis Example 2: William Ernest Henley, most often known for his famous poem, &#8220;Invictus,&#8221; presents his argument that one doesn&#8217;t have to be a victim of their hardships, as he famously claims, &#8220;I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.&#8221; <br \/>Thesis Example 3: Maya Angelou&#8217;s poems show arguments pertaining to racial and gender discrimination, struggle, and resilience. <br \/>Thesis Example 4: One of Emily Dickinson&#8217;s arguments in her poetry has to do with how she defined success and believed that &#8220;success is countest sweetest by those who n&#8217;er succeed.&#8221; <br \/>Thesis Example 5: One of E.E. Cummings&#8217; arguments in his poetry has to with the idea that transcendentalism or looking beyond the self is the key to spiritual happiness. <\/p>\n<p>Requirements: 1,500 words -2,000 (please type the word count at the end of the essay), MLA format, use direct quotes from poems or stories to illustrate points, use own analysis (don&#8217;t rely on the analysis found on the Internet &#8211; always provide in-text citations for what you find online),\u00a0AVOID summary (retelling what the lyrics, story or poem is about)\u00a0as that only indicates comprehension of poem. I know what the poem is about, but I&#8217;m looking for you to analyze the poem. You must show that you have reached evaluation and analysis, which means you must not write the summary but rather what you think it means. Each body paragraph should include a topic sentence where you indicate the focus of your paragraph. Then, it should include direct quotes with lines from the poem or story that show what you are analyzing. If you are looking at mood, give direct examples from the poem that show the mood You can use traditional, structural, sociological, psychoanalytical, or formal analysis.
