This is often driven by these Government\u2019s commitment and mandate to digitalinformation delivery and Building Information Modelling (BIM) on public procured projects (e.g.schools). This commitment to working with the industry in facilitating the transformation has led tothe provision of a set of supporting standards, protocols, classification system, documentation, etc.;defined in the BIM mandate of the UK for example.This assessment has two options. You should read through both options before deciding which oneis the most appropriate for you.Assessment Information\/Brief2Option 1 \u2013 Application of module material to a project \/organisationYou have been employed by a Government Department as a project management consultantfor the procurement of a new project. The design and construction consultants (architects,engineers, contractors etc.) for the project have not yet been appointed. You may choose anyproject type that is normally procured by a Government. For reference, a list of the UKGovernment Departments and what they do is available at the following linkhttps:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations.The concept of BIM level 2 has changed and the industry is now working on the UK BIMFramework. As part of your role, you have been asked to write a report to a Project Managerto define the BIM-related documents and amendmentsto existing documentation that wouldbe necessary to manage and control this project in line with the Government\u2019s current BIMrecommendations. You should consider the standards, protocols and documentationincluding newly published ISO19650 part 1,2 and 3 and explain their purpose, contentsandrequirements, specifically to the delivery of the project in line with that Government\u2019srequirements.You also need to briefly discuss the benefits and challenges of implementing theserequirements. This may be a project you have worked on or can access information on. Indicatewhat has been instigated to meet the BIM requirements and where the project falls short.
