The firm collapsed despite being the chosen holiday firm for most Britons. The company was also a primary competitor in some routes, which further makes its collapses fascinating. This research will examine the failure in the airline’s operation and as well as poor competing strategies. The research will give an in-depth analysis of how failure to innovate on its booking as well as the emergence of revolutionary hotel booking sites such as Airbnb affected the company. The research will also examine the impact of the high-end brick and motor shops on the company at the time competitors were moving online. The company was also not prepared for disruptions such as “staycations” which meant that its response to the new trend was almost non-existent. Staycation refers to a phenomenon where holidaymakers delay their holiday plans or choose to take their holiday at home.

The research will also give an analysis of how the company failed to maintain low overhead, ineffective capacity use, and poor inventory management. These will aim at looking at why the company failed to keep up with competition from low-cost airlines in the industry.

Research Paper Purpose

Your paper will be a review an issues that was caused by a failure in the production/operations management process.
