As I mentioned on Wednesday’s class, the Final Report will be an essay on any topic that we discussed throughout the course. <\/p>\n
The assignment is as I had explained, to take a topic from the course (or perhaps something we did not mention or go into too much detail about in class) and attempt to flesh it out further using your own research, and explore the future\/history of the industry and culture of manga.
You can look into a particular artist and trace their influence, within the context of what we have looked at in class. You can also focus on sociocultural and\/or economic factors which influence(d) your chosen topic. If you would like to expand upon your findings from the mid-semester report in order to give more data for your chosen topic, you are free to do so. <\/p>\n
The format is ideally three pages of A4, as before, but if you are using many illustrations, such as, including examples of how some artists use the technique of “shisen yuudou,” etc., then of course I would expect the page count to increase (worded analysis is very important, not just the visuals without explanations). <\/p>\n
Please submit it in either Word (.docx) or PDF format. I cannot open “.pages” files or any other extensions like those, so you may not be graded for those. <\/p>\n
The deadline is Wednesday the 28th of July, at 11:30pm. <\/p>\n
Make sure that you have written your name and student number on the paper, and on the file name, also. <\/p>\n
