The SWOT analysis technique is widely employed in organizational settings and can be a useful tool in guiding decision-making. In Signature Assignment #2, you will complete an evaluation of your PE program in relation to current alignment or misalignment with position statements, best practices, and policies (federal\/state\/local). You will conduct a modified SWOT analysis of your PE programs using SHAPE America\u2019s Physical Education Program Checklist to identify opportunities and the areas for improvement, identify existing assets to support or strengthen identified areas of need, and prioritize action items for future growth. Signature Assignment #2 is associated with content presented in PET 585 Module 2. <br \/>RequirementsStep 1: Conduct Program Evaluation. Access and review the various local, state, and national policies. These may include SHAPE America documents or documents obtained from the state board of education or local board of education websites. Once acquired, generate a list and description (formal name\/number and key aspects) of the local, state, and national policies that affect you professionally. Later, you will be asked to analyze your program\u2019s current alignment with each of the policies you have noted. <br \/>\u00a0 <br \/>Step 2: Complete SHAPE America PE Program Checklist (linked in Module and below in Resources). Revisit the Essential Components of Physical Education document for clarification on terminology, etc. Complete the SHAPE America Physical Education Program Checklist. As you work through the checklist, indicate whether program elements are in place (Yes), not in place (No), or In Progress. Provide an explanation for each assessment (Y, N or IP). Describe the degree of completion, details of completion (when, where, how, etc.), or known\/possible threats to not achieving the component. <\/p>\n<p> Step 3: Generate Written Executive Summary. Summarize the results from the PE Program Checklist into a four-part SWOT matrix to graphically represent up to five items in each category. Provide a written summary of items within each category (SWOT), include alignment with policies, best practices, and critical data-based recommendations. Identify current assets and needs for future growth. <\/p>\n<p> Step 4: Synthesize Results in Adobe Spark Slideshow. Using the information from the Executive Summary, visually represent your results to reflect appropriate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats with policies, recommendations, and guidance documents.
