Some will be more fruitful than others. You will, of course, be researching not only your topic but the history, influences, culture, events, and people that you come into contact with as you research.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p> As you complete your research, you will want to keep track of it. Using the Source Template (below) for all of your sources, you will not only have research done for your papers, but gain an understanding of the research process and allow yourself to discover a lot about your topic and those things it teaches you.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p> In your shared folder on Google Drive, create a document called Research and Invention Journal.\u00a0 Copy and paste the form below (page 2 of this document) to that document. After each entry, insert a page break to create a new page so that each source is on its own page.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p> Requirements: <br \/>Minimum 1 source per week (but you will do more than that due to the essay requirements) with total of: <\/p>\n<p>8-10 before you begin your Argumentative Research Paper <\/p>\n<p>14-16 before the end of the semester <\/p>\n<p>Must include at least: <\/p>\n<p>2 web sources <\/p>\n<p>2 scholarly sources <\/p>\n<p>1 primary source <\/p>\n<p>2 \u2018alternative\u2019 sources such as documentaries, podcasts, interviews, newscasts, etc.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>All parts of the form must be filled out for each source <\/p>\n<p>THE TOPIC IS CLIMATE CHANGE <br \/>TITLE: Enter the complete name of the text you are using <br \/>AUTHOR: Enter the name of the author (person or organization) of the text <br \/>AUTHOR CREDENTIALS: any credentials or info on the author <br \/>CONTAINER: Enter the name of where this text was found, journal, website, book, etc. <br \/>DATE OF PUBLICATION: If no date, enter N\/D <br \/>CREDIBILITY: Locate any other markers for credibility you can find. Use the CRAAP Test to help determine credibility. Recall the Library Lessons from College Comp. Search for value and bias.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p> SUMMARY: This will require you to read the entire text (this John Oliver video points out the importance of academic v. popular sources as well as the need to read the entire source and follow the research). Enter a summary of the text including main points and\/or quotes when necessary.\u00a0 Be specific &#8212; this will help you later. Summary should be between 1-2 paragraphs. <\/p>\n<p> CONNECTION TO YOUR TOPIC: Write a brief (1 paragraph) discussion of how this helps you (or not) in understanding your topic in terms of that history and culture we are talking about. What does it help you learn? Does it add information to your knowledge? Does it complement or argue against other research you have found? Does it fill a gap? Does it create consensus?
