As with any major endeavor, leadership must evaluate the current situation and determine what direction they want they want the organization to go, as well as what the public demands. In organizations, this process is referred to as a SWOT analysis, which entails evaluating the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. A SWOT analysis provides the opportunity to evaluate these components in the present tense to establish a baseline of an organization\u2019s current performance. It also enables organizational leadership to develop a meaningful strategic plan for moving forward to address issues facing the organization in the short and long terms.

A SWOT analysis provides a relatively simple, yet effective, tool to gauge the current status of an organization. It aids in identifying where efforts need to be directed to enhance existing strengths, diminish weaknesses, and move the organization forward. Ideally, a SWOT analysis is a part of organizational operations, providing a \u201cself-check\u201d as to mission and goal attainment. In this assignment, you are going to be conducting a SWOT Analysis from an outside perspective, as one might get from a consultant rather than the internal perspective of an organization\u2019s leadership. Each category of the SWOT analysis should evaluate how that category is impacted by culture, organizational structure, and leadership. You will select a public, nonprofit, or government organization, this can include your own organization or one you are familiar with for the analysis.
In your paper,
Identify a public, nonprofit, or government organization.
Provide a brief overview of the organization, its mission, and history.
Analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges of the organization.
Examine how culture, organizational structure, and leadership impact each category of the SWOT analysis.
Generate at least five recommendations for the organization based on the SWOT analysis to move the organization forward.
