Why or why not?
3) Give an example of where the author used exaggeration in the essay. Did the use of this strategy strengthen or weaken his argument? Why do you think so?
4) What is the author trying to persuade the reader of in this essay? Were you persuaded? Why or why not?
5) Were you able to personally relate to anything in this essay? Why or why not? Give an example.

Respond to: 1.the intended audience is people who disagree with the author. the author is using evidence to change peoples perspective.
2. I think that the picture they chose was a good picture. the picture illustrates what the author is trying to say in the essay.
3.The author says “The very fact that the word “selfie” is now in the dictionary – not to mention that it is word of the year – is a disgrace.” is where he used exaggeration. i think this made it stronger because he is wanting to change peoples opinion.
4.the author is trying to persuade that selfies are destroying our society and it kinda persuaded me. I was persuaded by the essay because he had a lot of facts and examples.
5.i could not really relate to anything in this essay. when the selfie became ahuge thing i did not really participate in the trend so i do not really relate to it that much.
AND

1 I think the article is intended foe people who have not yet made up their minds yet. What makes you think so? Because it’s aiming directly about the negative in people who do post selfies.
2) Yes I think it was a good picture to include because it backs up the article itself, it’s of a someone taking a selfie. And that’s basically what the entire article is about. People posting things happening in their daily lifestyles.
3) I think when the he stated “almost no one else in the world cares to see photos of them at all’ but t feel that it make his argument weaker because he’s expressing his opinion and I some what agree. Personally, I use social media from time to time but 9 times out of ten I don’t care about anything anyone post on there. I use it for beneficial reasons.
4) The author is trying to persuade people to be more careful and not post so much on social media bout their personal life. Yes I was somewhat persuaded because a lot of what he was saying made sense. It’s some sick creepy people in the world and you never know who can be watching you and stalking you.
5) Yes I was able to relate to certain things the author talking about in the essay. When the author stated “Though you may think that that “special someone” is admiring the close-up of your lips that you just took, it may actually be some creep in his basement doing God knows what with all of your pictures” i couldn’t agree more because honestly we never really know.

https://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/news/age-of-the-selfie-endless-need-to-share-tears-societys-last-shred-of-dece/ Discussion Questions for “The Age of the Selfie: Endless Need to Share Tears Society’s Last Shred of Decency” by Robert Wilcox 1) Who is the intended audience for this essay: People who don’t agree with the author, people who do, or people who haven’t made up their minds yet? What makes you think so?
