Throughout the course, we have examined a variety components found in an HRIS system.\u00a0 Each component has the capacity to generate data patterns in a report form that is used to make decisions and improve performance.\u00a0 This is referred to as HR analytics&#8211; the process of measuring various HR metrics (Lalwani, 2019). \u00a0 <br \/>There are four level of HR analytics: operational reporting, advanced reporting, strategic analytics, and predictive analytics.\u00a0 <br \/>Operational Reporting\u00a0examines data and metrics to understand activities of the past and possibly determine the reason.\u00a0 With operational reporting, you are pulling data from the system of the result of a question posed by management.\u00a0 For example, you are running payroll.\u00a0 Checks over $4,000 must have a second signature.\u00a0 You retrieve from your HRIS, the names and amounts over $4,000.\u00a0 <br \/>Advanced Reporting\u00a0consists of the routine reports and often used in a proactive manner.\u00a0 A recent payroll error raised the question of possible payroll errors.\u00a0 The HR Director has asked you to run a report after each payroll of all employees receiving check over $4,000.\u00a0 The HR Director also wants you to audit each check to ensure the pay and hours are correct.\u00a0\u00a0 You are taking proactive actions using HR metrics. <br \/>Strategic analytics\u00a0can be a bit trickier.\u00a0 You are working in talent management.\u00a0 You noticed that this one supervisor seems to always being hiring new employees.\u00a0 You are unaware of any projects or plans in the works that require this level of frequency.\u00a0 You decide to run a turnover analysis to determine the cause for the turnover.\u00a0 The information yielded from the system becomes a key document in conducting a need analysis.\u00a0\u00a0 <br \/>The final level \u2013\u00a0predictive analytics\u00a0\u2013 takes HR metrics and uses it to predict future needs, possible challenges, or modeling of plans or initiatives.\u00a0 You might see this with an organization that is seeking a government contract.\u00a0 Currently, they have the staff in place to sustain their current customer base.\u00a0 Should the organization succeed in being awarded the contract, the company will need to hire 50 new employees.\u00a0 The CEO has asked HR to identify how quickly new employees can be hired, trained, and put into place.\u00a0\u00a0 <br \/>Some of the most commonly used analytics are the following: <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Does your current or former employer utilize HR analytics to their full potential? \u00a0If so, how? \u00a0If not, in what ways do you think your company could benefit from using these analytics? \u00a0Based on your readings, be specific with your suggestions.
