Introductory paragraph \u2013 Introduce the work, author and major themes of the book. Make an argument aka thesis about how the author presents this theme and why it is significant. <\/p>\n
Body paragraphs \u2013 your scene is your evidence for your thesis. Introduce\/ set the scene, quote important lines and analyze them. Remember every word represent a choice the writer is making. How do those choices impact the scene\/ book? <\/p>\n
Conclusion \u2013 Do more than just restate your thesis. Reflect on the larger implications of the work, perhaps within Latinx\/ LGBTQ writing? <\/p>\n
Notes: <\/p>\n
Envision a general audience \u2013 ie someone who has not read the book, not your professor! Give just enough information for someone to follow your argument, but don\u2019t over saturate with summary. <\/p>\n
Make sure to read the paper carefully over after it is drafted. I recommend reading it out loud to catch phrasing and grammatical issues! <\/p>\n
