The attached document asks you to link the two by first describing/defining a particular psychological phenomenon, then describing a relevant personal experience, and finally analyzing how the two relate.

You should select a specific aspect of psychology that we covered in the period since your previous journal was due (or, for Journal #1, since the beginning of the course). The phenomenon you select can be any process, phenomenon, theory, or psychological tendency described in the course readings, lecture, slides, and/or class handouts.

You can describe an experience that happened to you personally, or one that you saw happen to someone else. If all else fails, describe a situation that you saw happen on a T.V. show or in a movie. You may choose an experience that you believe matches the psychological phenomenon covered in class, or an experience that you think contradicts it. Choose something that will be interesting to others and that you would be willing to share with the class.

For example, you might select colorblindness (described in lecture), and describe an incident in your life when you participated in a group that emphasized this concept. Or you might select filter-shifting (described in the reading) and describe a situation in which you saw this phenomenon impact your best friend’s life choices. Anything connecting your topic to your life is fine.

Your journal submission will be graded based on the following criteria:
• Was the description of the chosen phenomenon complete

Psychology of Cultural Diversity Journal Relevant psychology topic (taken from this week’s lecture, readings, handouts, or slides): Detailed description of the phenomenon listed as your topic, based on class and readings (if from a reading, cite the page number): Detailed description of a personal experience that involves the topic, from your own life: (may […]

[1
25
post-48378","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-research-paper-writing","tag-psychology
["GET
