This class will prepare me for my degree as well as landing a job in the world of cybersecurity. <br \/>What is Malware Attack???? <br \/>A malware attack is a type of attack in which cybercriminals intentionally install malicious software on a system without the owner\u2019s knowledge to gain access to the system. <br \/>Why do they use malware???? <br \/>\u00b7 For capturing personal data <br \/>\u00b7 For financial data such as credit or debit card\/bank details. <br \/>\u00b7 Attacking the system and using it for cryptocurrencies <br \/>\u00b7 For getting trade secrets or private data of an organization. <br \/>\u00b7 To gain an advantage over a competitor in the business world. <br \/>What are the dangers of Malware attacks???? <br \/> Malware affects the entire organization and its systems in the following ways <br \/>* Results in network issues. <br \/>* Slows down the system. <br \/>* Results in system crash <br \/>* Affects productivity. <br \/>* Allows unauthorized access <br \/>* Allows private data disclosure. <br \/>What are the different types of malware attacks???? <br \/>The major types of malware attacks include the following. <br \/>(a) Viruses: It modifies host programs, and it will execute parallelly when the file is executed. <br \/>(b) Worms: It is self-replicating \/stand-alone malicious programs that result in security failures of a system. <br \/>(c) Trojan horse: It looks like a legitimate program and misleads the users of its intention. <br \/>(d) Spyware: This will get installed on a device without the user\u2019s knowledge to steal sensitive information. <br \/>(e) Adware: It shows unwanted advertisements in your system and it has the potential to hijack your system <br \/>(f) Ransomware: It is a type of malware attack which infects the system and demands fees for continuing tasks by popping up warning messages. <br \/>(g) Hybrid attack: It includes both dictionary attacks as well as brute force attacks. <br \/>(h) Rootkits: It allows a third party to access a computer and its all restricted applications. <br \/>(i) Bots: It creates a broad flood of attacks and Echobot is an example of this type of attack. <br \/>(j) Keyloggers: It monitors the user\u2019s keystrokes. Olympic vision is a type of keylogger. <br \/>(k)Fileless malware: It doesn\u2019t install anything, but it makes changes to the system files. Astaroth is a type of fileless malware and it&#8217;s 10 times successful than traditional malware attacks. <br \/>How to prevent Malware attacks???? <br \/>\u00b7 Install Firewalls <br \/>\u00b7 Install antiviruses <br \/>\u00b7 Back up data regularly <br \/>\u00b7 Don\u2019t click any suspicious links <br \/>\u00b7 Download only from trusted sources <br \/>\u00b7 Buy apps from trusted sources. <br \/>\u00b7 Update the software regularly. <br \/>\u00b7 Use multiple and strong passwords. <br \/>\u00b7 Take care while using open wifis <br \/>\u00b7 Always try to keep the current Operating system. <br \/>\u00b7 Don\u2019t use unfamiliar or infected removable drives. <br \/>\u00b7 Use proper data encryption techniques <br \/>\u00b7 Avoid disclosing\/ posting confidential data to the outside world <br \/>\u00b7 Always confirm you are receiving emails from a trusted source. <br \/>\u00b7 Alert the authorities for any unusual behavior of the system. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Explain how you expect this course will help you move forward in your current or future career.
